White Rock Weather Overview

Located in the southeastern portion of Metro Vancouver, White Rock is one of the metro’s smallest municipalities. However, it’s elevation ranges from sea level to over 100m, which gives rise to several microclimates, even across its small area.
Sunshine
Overall, White Rock receives more sunshine than most other Metro Vancouver communities. Only Tsawwassen, in Delta, receives more sunshine. This is primarily due to it’s southerly location, away from the North Shore mountains.
Rainfall
White Rock receives less precipitation than Surrey, and communities north of the Fraser River. Areas right along the water tend to receive less precipitation.
Snowfall
Snowfall in White Rock is highly variable, and is lowest along the water. Snowfall does increase rapidly with elevation, with the higher areas in the northern part of the city receiving a similar amount of snowfall as parts of South Surrey. Overall White Rock receives less snowfall than most other Metro Vancouver communities.
Summer Temperatures
Since all of White Rock is in relatively close proximity to the ocean, summer high temperatures tend to be cooler than most areas of Metro Vancouver.
